Network Administrator

Momentum Systems is an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) application provider based in Arlington, VA. For twelve years, we have been successfully building custom applications using Open Text’s Livelink product for document, workflow and task management. Momentum Systems has an immediate need for a Network Administrator to support corporate and client project operations at our headquarters location in Arlington, VA. 

Candidates should have TWO (2) OR MORE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in the following areas:

  • Supporting Windows based networks
  • Supporting Windows-based desktops

Candidates should have EXPERIENCE in the following:

  • Windows / Unix environment
  • LAN protocols, hands on experience with networking hardware, and fundamental knowledge of IP based applications required.
  • Dell Hardware (Servers, Workstations, and Peripherals).
  • Oracle / SQL*Server Database
  • Working with corporate vendors.

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) for Windows 2000/2003.
  • Linux and Solaris Operations Systems.
  • Firewalls and access rules.
  • Veritas NetBackup and automated tape libraries.
  • Cisco routers and switches.
  • IP Telephony.
  • Working in a development environment supporting Java/ColdFusion based applications.
  • Strong communication (oral and written)
  • Open Text Livelink (or other Enterprise Content Management product) experience

ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED:

  • US Citizen

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide operation and maintenance support for Windows/UNIX servers and workstations.
  • Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.
  • Monitors and maintains network stability.
  • Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
  • Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain all Windows services, including Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, device drivers, printing, Anti-Virus and backups.
  • Provide Windows Server (2000/2003) technical support including Windows Server Administration and related applications. Experience operating in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Provide system administration support to Solaris 8/9 & Windows NT operating systems in production, test and development environments.
  • Support VOIP phone network utilizing Cisco routers/phones.
  • Support corporate back office applications. 
  • Support corporate back office equipment.
  • Support corporate development environments.
  • Handle technical support requests for both the main and remote client offices.

Compensation is competitive and is dependent upon experience and abilities.  Only Full time employees will be considered.
