Workflow Helper Applications

Workflow Helper Applications can be created to extend the functionality of Livelink workflows in order to fully emulate your business process.  Workflow Helper Applications are also frequently used to pass data between Livelink and your legacy applications.  Common functions facilitated by Workflow Helper Applications include the ability to:

  • Auto-populate workflow initiation name with a unique value for that instance.
  • Create folders and populate folder permissions/attributes.
  • Load documents and populate document permissions/attributes.
  • Update legacy systems based on events that occurred or data stored in Livelink.
  • Assign future performers to workflow steps based on workflow attributes or legacy data value.
  • Send custom emails to affected parties upon task initiation, completion or lateness.
  • Monitor due dates.
  • Dynamically generate workflow step instructions that provide text unique to that instance of the workflow and include links to legacy applications.

Typical Services: We can work with you to determine the business logic and requirements for the Workflow Helper Application. Then, we design, build, test and deploy the application. We can also work with system administrators to ensure that the application is scheduled to run automatically at the appropriate times.

Scanner Helper Applications

Scanner Helper Applications can be created to load documents from a scanning folder into Livelink. Once documents are scanned or OCR’d, they can be picked up and loaded into Livelink. They can be loaded into different folders in Livelink based on file type or a pre-defined naming convention.

Typical Services: We can configure the Scanner Helper to work in your environment. If documents need special logic to determine the destination folder in Livelink, we gather the requirements necessary to design, build, test, and deploy the code that implements the logic.

Livelink Form Letter Automation

Livelink Form Letter Automation can be created to generate preformatted Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect documents with populated fields from information residing in both Livelink and legacy applications. This utility uses standard document templates for form letter generation.

Typical Services: We work with you to understand the requirements of the form/letter automation–assessing which data needs to be pulled into the form and where the data should be pulled from, as well as determining which conditions generate a letter.  Once the analysis is complete, we design, build, test and deploy the application.

LiveReport Customizations

LiveReport Customizations can search Livelink database tables and external legacy system database tables. Search results can be customized to include hyperlinks. Clicking on the hyperlink takes the user to that item, be it a folder or a document.

Typical Services: We work with you to determine the SQL statements needed for the LiveReport and customize the report to include hyperlinks.
